Optimize your Water Season by:
Keeping warm, seeking stillness, making time for sleep
Continuing to get outside during sunlight as possible
Avoiding getting over-booked – protect your down-time so that holiday events are enjoyable, not exhausting.
Drinking plenty of fluids, preferably warm
Eating cooked, savory foods. Reduce salads, raw fruit and iced beverages.
Adjusting your exercise routine to avoid depleting your resources – remember to have light exercise or rest days to keep your body strong and decrease susceptibility to winter illnesses.
And of course…remember to book your acupuncture treatment!

In Chinese Medicine, Winter is associated with the WATER element. The WATER element is associated with the Kidneys and Urinary Bladder. These organ systems are thought to be associated with the vitality and longevity. Treatment of the WATER element is often indicated for conditions involving our bones, brain, ears, hair, teeth, low back, sex drive and reproductive functioning, as well as to promote healthy development and aging.
Winter can be a time when our energies go deep within, resting and growing in wisdom and peacefulness. It is a time to gather our resources and re-charge our batteries.
